International Street Fair & Parade
April 5, 11am – 4 pm
Sample foods from around the world while you drink in the music, costumes, and dance of over 110 countries, as represented by the student body of Virginia Tech and individuals from the wider Blacksburg community. College Avenue is closed for food and craft booths, and the stage features an eclectic mix of melodies and musical performances unmatched throughout the year.

Presented by the Virginia Tech School of the Arts and the Town of Blacksburg. Rain site for all concerts is Old Dominion Ballroom, located in Squires Student Center. Music begins at 6 PM. Art Along the Alley

The Downtown Merchants and the Blacksburg Farmers Market join forces for double-the-usual summer fun: one-of-a-kind artworks and a delicious feast of fresh goods on the market. This is a family affair offering wonderful prepared food, live music, and a colorful variety of artwork. For artists, there are cash prizes and an opportunity to showcase new works. Details.

Steppin' Out
August 1 & 2, 10 am - 10 pm
Blacksburg’s signature festival takes place the first weekend of August from 10 am to 10 pm, when the streets are filled with over 170 crafters; fair food from local eateries perfumes the air; sidewalk sales sprout at all of your favorite downtown stores; and three stages of live performance fill the afternoons and evenings. Join us in 2008, our 28th year!

Draper Mile Run
August 1, 6:15 pm at Steppin' Out
The Draper Mile Run is a one-mile road race for runners of all ages.
It's held every year on the first evening of Downtown Blacksburg's Steppin' Out Festival.
The course is mostly downhill, starting and ending on Draper Road, with the finish in the heart of the festival area.
Times are about 10-12 seconds faster than a track mile. The event features a fun run as well as the fast-paced
traditional run.

Winter Lights Festival

Downtown goes dramatic as the holiday parade spills into downtown; the town tree is illuminated on Henderson Lawn; and Santa pays his magical visit to the Lyric Theatre for the traditional family photo shoot.
